Attention High School Students!
Win cash for you and your school

"Produce It!" is an education initiative from Time Warner Cable that encourages high school students (grades 9-12) to develop a television public service announcement (PSA) with a message on the importance of healthy nutrition and physical activity. The PSA should show how eating better and being active can help kids do better in school and in life. A person can be healthy in many ways, especially by eating breakfast; consuming fruits, veggies, milk and water; and being active for an hour a day.

Be creative! Be imaginative! How does eating better make you feel? What are the benefits of being physically active? Why is it important to be healthy? What are the potential effects on a student who does not eat healthy food and exercise? These are some of the questions you might ask while developing your message. Contest Prizes

  • 1st place -- $500 cash to student and/or student team and $500 to school to purchase video equipment. Winning public service announcement will be featured in a congratulatory PSA and air on 40 cable channels.
  • 2nd place -- $250 cash to student and/or student team
  • 3rd place -- $100 cash to student and/or student team

Bonus – Time Warner Cable will donate $1, up to $5,000 for each view received by the 10 finalist PSAs to Children’s Hunger Alliance, and the donation will be made jointly in the winning school’s name.

Up to ten PSA finalists will receive a Certificate of Recognition and their public service announcements will air on Time Warner Cable’s Local On Demand Channel 1111 as part of the final judging process. Winning students will be presented with their awards by a local Time Warner Cable representative. Photographs will be taken with students and local officials for newspapers.
